Are You Ready????? For That Special Day

Hello everybody. How was your weekends? I hope they were filled with fun and chicken wings. Sorry for the Seahawk fans, I was really rooting for them. But lets not talk about that we are all here for some beauty.

My birthday is on Thursday but because I have to work I going out tomorrow (Tuesday). I know I will be taking a lot of pictures and I want to look my best. So I know I have to prep for the big day before hand. I have made the mistake in the past of not preparing ahead of time and having to rush around. Trust me I have left the house still painting my toes (not cute not cute at all).

First off lets start with the skin, because we all know we don't wake up lookin' flawless. I start by cleansing my face as usually but I always use a mask. This time I used the GlamGlow  YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. This is so nice. It tightens the skin and after 10 minutes you wet it and it exfoliates the skin. My skin was so soft afterwards and the blackheads on my nose were gone. My pores on my cheeks appeared smaller to. I did the mask the day before because I hadn't used it yet and I didn't want a disaster tomorrow.

Cuteness overload.... Not Really
No blackheads.

I know that I started with my face but I really started with my brows. I waxed them and tweezed the before I cleansed my face. I also waxed my legs. I really ask that no one wax themselves unless they know what they are doing. It could get very ugly. But I'm all for tweezing. (By the way ladies can we please stop saying "pluck" or "plucking". We're not chickens.) When you're removing the hair pull in the direction of the hair growth it won't break off and leave you with little stubbies. You also don't want to tweeze or get your brows waxed the day off a special occasion because if there is a mistake, you have time to fix it. When you wax you are removing the top layer of skin and you don't want to put makeup or really any type of product like that on the skin. Make sure you hold the skin taut, it helps it hurt less. I use slanted tweezers that have a handy comb on the end. It makes doing your brows so much easier.

On to the next on on to the next....step that is. Sunday night I washed my hair as usual but I was on Pinterest and saw that if you put coconut oil in your hair and let it sit over night that it helps it grow and it makes it very soft. I did it last week to see what all the hoopla was about and miss ma'am can I tell you it does all of that. It is so silky and my curls are so defined. I just take some in my hand to warm it up and cover my hair roots to ends. I sleep in it but I use a shower cap so it doesn't get all over my pillow. When I woke up this morning I washed my hair as usual and let it air dry. I feel like I should be in a shampoo commercial with these locks.

Greasy coconut hair.

Excuse the weird face but that hair looks good.

All I have left to do tomorrow is my makeup and decide what I'm wearing. Which is the hardest of all. Wish me luck. I'm going to post my makeup, hair and what I'm wearing tomorrow on Wednesday so keep your peepers peeled for it. If you guys have and pins or beauty tips or tricks you would like me to try out just let me know. I love try new things. I hope I have helped you guys prepare for a special day or just the next day. I know prom is coming up so I hope you guys see this as helpful.

So Fresh and So Clean....Face That Is

Hello my beautiful people. How is everybody doing? Wonderful...that's great. I am here to share with you my skin care routine. It's not very fancy or extravagant it's actually very simple.

I learned a lot in esthetics school about how the skin works and how to put your best face forward. in school we used the Dermalogica skin care line. It is a very good line that uses mostly natural ingredients but it is a bit pricey. You can buy their products online or in store like Ulta and Sephora. The best part about their lines is that you can "cocktail" their products to what your skin needs.

I have oily skin that is dry in some spots and is very testy and can brake out at the drop of the hat. I break out mostly on my cheeks and get millia (hard "balls" of oil under the skin) in my under eye area. Because I have oily skin I have large pores that get clogged easily.

Now for the fun part. I use the Dermalogica Special Cleanse (oily skin cleanser), their Daily Microfoliant (exfoliant), and Alba Botanica Acne Dote (astringent). Everybody should exfoliate their face at least twice a week depending on their skin. People who thin skin shouldn't exfoliate to much because their skin is prone to getting "torn". I exfoliate everyday but not with a harsh granular (grainy) exfoliant. I also use the Olay Professional brush every other day (helps exfoliate my face). To save on time (because sometimes we just don't have that much time) I mix the Daily Microfoliant with the cleanser (look at me killin' 2 steps with 1 stone).  Exfoliating also helps you get rid of the old cells that sit on top of your skin (these cells make ya look older...uhh no thank you). By the way don't forget to include your neck because when we age our neck and hands scream to the world how old we really are.

So after I'm done washing my face I pat it dry and use my Alba Acne Dote. It is always good to tone the face so I put a little in a spray bottle and spray it all over my face. Toner or astringent not only helps remove any left over residue but it also moistens the face before you apply your moisturizer. I always use my Clean and Clear Advantage acne control moisturizer BUT I mix it with either my Dermalogica Active Moist (in the morning, helps control my oil) or my Equate Night-Time firming cream (at night, because mama needs to keep her face lookin' young). I really like the Clean and Clear because I have noticed that it is helping keep my break outs on the low low.

When I have to take my eye makeup off I use the Equate Beauty Oil-Free eye makeup remover. This stuff is really really good. I wear contacts and have pretty sensitive eyes and it doesn't bother me at all.

Sometimes when my face is in need of some extra lovin' I use the Glamglow SuperMud Clearing Treatment. I got this for Christmas from my husband (who bought it at Marshals). I love this so much because I'm one of those weirdos who likes watching the stuff come out of my skin. It's so liberating lol. I usually just put it on my problem areas such as my nose, chin and cheeks. Glamglow also has a hydrating mask that I use when my face is thirsty.

I don't use an eye cream because I'm on the hunt for an oil-free yet nourishing one because the ones I have tried cause millia under my eyes and they are so annoying (like little mountains of yuck...ewww). So if you guys have any suggestions please help a sista out.

I hope this has helped you all or at least gave you some ideas if you're in the market for some new facial products.

Today I'm going to leave you with some sexy photos of me with my mask. Please if you have a weak stomach do not look at them...lol

So sexy...lol NOT!!!! I have coconut oil in my hair that's why it looks so greasy. Look at those pores just gettin' so clear.

Hoped you enjoyed reading.
